INSTRUCTIONS AND ADVISEMENT

Note: This cover is heavy duty. It weighs 75lbs total.

A. Putting on the cover: None of the CoverSeal products are used like standard covers. They are unique. The most efficient, and less strenuous, means for putting on the cover isn’t like standard covers where it is put on the vehicle and rolled out. CoverSeal covers, and especially the Long Bed Truck cover, start out on the ground.

  1. Roll out the cover on the left side of the vehicle. The front has a FRONT logo on it and the rear has the CoverSeal logo on the back.
  2. Take the right edge of the cover and place it on the hood, side mirror and truck bed. Note: The right edge has pull over straps in the middle of the edge. Undo the Velcro and deploy the straps. Throw them over the top roof of your vehicle.
  3. With the straps over the vehicle pull these to get the cover further on the vehicle. Then walk around and release the cover if its binding on any edge to allow you to put more over the truck bed and hood.
  4. Once you have a little more than ½ of the cover on use the pull straps to get the cover on the other side. The weight will help pull it over. Walk around the vehicle and adjust the cover so it sits evenly and is uniform around the vehicle.

Note: you only have to do this the first time to get the cover over the vehicle.

There is a zipper on the bottom of the apron that allows you to separate the cover from the weighted bottom. The zipper is nylon and industrial strength. The pull ring cannot take the full weight of the bottom. Avoid putting a lot of stress on
this pull ring.

B. Taking off the cover. As mentioned above the zipper allows you to ingress and egress from the cover without having to put the whole cover over the vehicle.

  1. Go to the rear of the vehicle (CoverSeal Logo). You will find a vertical slit in the cover black apron held by hook/loop material. Detach this and access
the zipper. Carefully unzip the cover from the weight.
  2. Pull the cover only back over the vehicle and let it sit on the ground on the right side of the vehicle.
  3. Go back to the rear of the vehicle and expand the rear split so you can back out without running over the cover.
  4. Your DONE. When you come back do
this process in reverse. Make sure you have expanded the rear sufficiently so you don’t run over the cover when you get back in.

Cover Overview

See what makes this product great and what to consider

Pros

  • Protection from bird droppings – Bird droppings are highly acidic and can etch into the clear coat within hours, causing permanent stains. A cover acts as a physical barrier.
  • UV ray shielding – Prolonged sun exposure degrades the clear coat, leading to fading, oxidation, and micro-cracking. A quality cover reflects or absorbs a significant portion of UV radiation.
  • Defense against tree sap and insect residues – These organic substances are sticky, corrosive, and difficult to remove. A cover prevents them from bonding to the paint surface.
  • Reduction of airborne abrasion – In dusty or sandy areas, wind‐ blown particles can directly sandblast the paint. The cover absorbs the impact, keeping the original finish intact.
  • Protection from environmental pollutants – Industrial fallout, acid rain, and road grime are kept off the paint, reducing the need for frequent washing and chemical decontamination.

Cons

  • Micro ‐ scratching from friction – Even with soft inner linings, any movement of the cover (especially in windy conditions) creates relative motion against the paint, which can produce fine
    swirl marks (spider webbing).
  • “Sandpaper effect” from trapped dust – If either the car body or the cover’s inner surface is not perfectly clean, dust and grit become embedded. When the cover shifts, these particles act like abrasive grit, scouring the clear coat.
  • Wind ‐ amplified damage – In strong winds, the cover flaps and vibrates. This not only increases friction but can also cause the cover ’ s seams, zippers, or elastic edges to slap repeatedly against the panels, leaving localized rub marks.
  • Risk from improper installation/removal – Dragging the cover across a dirty surface during fitting or removal can drag dirt particles along the panel, creating linear scratches.
  • Moisture trapping – If the cover is not breathable or is put on while the car is wet, trapped moisture can promote water spots or, in extreme cases, mild mildew, which may affect the gloss.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do CoverSeal covers prevent rodent damage?

CoverSeal uses its patented weatherproof, weighted apron to seal the cover to the ground. Critters of all shapes and sizes avoid lifting the cover’s heavy edge.  They will travel around the cover, realize there is no entry point, and move on in search of a more convenient shelter.

Is it OK for the cover to sit on the ground?

The bottom edge apron is completely waterproof it is made of thick >10mil high grade tarp.  This material does not degrade sitting on the ground.

Why isn't the cover more form fitting?

The covers are designed to be loose fitting.  The main reason is that it allows them to flutter in the wind.  Water is trapped in nooks and depressions in most covers, but CoverSeal will billow up in the wind, snapping the excess water off the cover.

Does the cover come in any other color?

Silver reflects >90% of the sunlight.  It keeps the materials, furniture and barbecues cool.  The reflected sunlight also doesnt degrade the color of your cushions and improves the lifetime of the cover, keeping the CoverSeal material in top shape.

Why doesn't the cover have side-mirror pockets?

Many covers rely on the side mirror pockets to help lock the cover onto the car, especially in wind.  These are not needed with CoverSeal.  The weighted apron provides a much more effective locking of the cover down on the car.
